Parquet glue: an innovative product!

Parquet glue means durability. We're going to tell you all about it.

The history of parquet glues is recent, but the glue itself is much older.
Glues have ancestral origins, used since prehistoric times to unite different materials. Over time, these adhesives have evolved to become more effective and durable, playing a crucial role in the assembly of composite materials and the creation of watertight joints.
Glued-down parquet represents a modern method of parquet installation, offering an alternative to nailed-down or floating parquet, with a wear layer at least 2.5 mm thick. Its advantages include increased stability and compatibility with underfloor heating, although the use of stronger adhesives is required for wide planks.
These key points demonstrate the historical importance and constant evolution of parquet glue in the construction and renovation industry.

Primer before parquet glue!

PU280 Primer is a blue, single-component polyurethane resin base, available without solvents or epoxy resin, designed to solidify transition areas. It can be applied to absorbent or non-absorbent substrates, consolidating damaged or crumbling screed edges. Application conditions vary according to the type of surface: for unheated or heated cement screeds. This product is fast-acting, with a proven moisture barrier and a rapid drying time of 40 to 50 minutes. It can be directly bonded after 72 hours. Versatile for a variety of uses, it is not, however, suitable for direct installation of levelling compound. It is easy to apply using a 10 mm microfibre or foam roller. The first coat acts as a primer for the adhesive, with a consumption of 100 to 150 g/m² (i.e. approximately 70 to 73 m² for a single coat). The second coat, applied perpendicular to the first, acts as a moisture barrier, consuming 250 to 350 g/m² (i.e. approximately 50 to 55 m² for two coats). It is recommended that the can be stored at a temperature above +5°C.

Types of glue
