Lower sleeve flange

Lower sleeve flange for OURAGAN PLE TYPHON1&2 TORNADE sanders

Functions

The lower handle clamp on the Ouragan heavy-duty sander is an essential component that secures the handle to the sander’s frame. Its main function is to hold the handle firmly in place, allowing the operator to control the tool in a stable and precise manner.

Wear points to monitor and replacement

1. Wear on fasteners and screws: The lower handle clamp is usually secured to the sander’s chassis using screws or bolts. Over time and due to repeated use of the sander, these fasteners may wear out, become loose or show signs of wear. It is important to check these fasteners regularly to ensure they are tight and show no signs of excessive wear. If the fasteners are damaged or if the flange no longer holds firmly in place, it may be necessary to replace them.

2. Material wear: The lower handle flange itself may wear out due to repeated use of the sander and the stresses to which it is subjected. Look for signs of wear such as cracks, deformation or material deterioration. If the flange is visibly damaged or weakened, it is recommended that you replace it.

3. Fastening failure: If the lower handle flange fails to hold the handle securely in place on the sander’s chassis, this can lead to stability issues with the tool during use. If you notice signs of loosening or excessive play despite proper tightening, the lower handle clamp must be replaced.

The exact time at which you will need to replace the lower handle clamp will depend on factors such as how frequently the sander is used, the intensity of the sanding work and the quality of the original part. It is recommended that you regularly check the condition of the lower handle clamp when servicing your sander and replace it as soon as you notice signs of significant wear, damage or malfunction. This will ensure the operator’s safety and that the sander handle remains securely in place.

As always, it is advisable to follow Repex Floor’s recommendations regarding the maintenance and replacement of specific components to maintain your machine’s optimal performance.
