Double-sided discs can be mounted in two different ways:

• on a pad (for stalk removal), preferable for fine grits 80, 100, 120
• on a double-sided plate

The difference between the two solutions:

On the pad, the disc holds less well, so it is preferable to use it for de-graining with fine grit 80, 100, 120.  
The double-sided abrasive pad can be used to sand concrete screed for light levelling.
