Function in the cooling system

The Edger Fan is an essential component of the cooling system for the Zephyr edge sander, designed by Repex Floor. Its main function is to maintain the optimum operating temperature of the motor. When the edge sander is in use, the motor generates a significant amount of heat. The fan draws in ambient air and directs it through the cooling elements to dissipate this heat. This prevents the motor from overheating and ensures that it continues to operate properly.

Effective thermal regulation not only preserves the performance of the machine, but also extends the service life of the internal components. The Edger Fan therefore plays an essential protective role in ensuring the safe and long-lasting use of the edger.

When to replace the Edger Fan

Like any mechanical part subject to regular use, the cooling fan can wear out over time. There are several signs that may indicate that replacement is necessary.

Unusual noises, such as squeaking, rattling or excessive vibration, may occur. These can indicate an imbalance or internal failure of the fan.

Less effective cooling is also a possible indicator. If the engine starts to heat up more than usual or shows signs of overheating under normal operating conditions, this may be a sign that the fan is no longer working properly.

Visible signs of wear, such as broken, bent or missing blades, should alert the user.

A damaged fan cannot ensure proper air circulation and must be replaced.

Finally, if the motor stops unexpectedly, especially after a prolonged period of operation, this may be due to a failure of the cooling system, of which the fan is an integral part.
