2. Instability: If the base becomes unstable, loses its solidity or no longer adequately supports the weight of the sander, its efficiency may be compromised. Replacement would then be necessary.

3. Deformation: Any significant deformation of the aluminium foot can affect its correct fit and potentially cause problems when using the sander. In this case, replacement is necessary.
